We wanted SFN’s 50 year anniversary annual report to feel celebratory and forward-looking. To convey the theme of Preparing for the Next 50 Years of Neuroscience Progress in a visual way, we inserted several pages throughout the report that fold-out; the idea being that the reader will unfold these in order to see the historical sketch side-by-side with its modern microscopy image equivalent. To further reinforce this special occasion, we designed a gatefold cover with a window die cut and used accents of gold metallic ink throughout the report as a nod to their 50th.
