JIWA SINGAPURA

Jiwa is a world-class dining destination located in Tysons, VA that spotlights Singapore’s diverse flavors and cultural influences in modern and imaginative ways. As the second venture of Michelin-starred chef, Pepe Moncayo, Jiwa delivers an unparalleled, detail-oriented, fine-dining experience from the locally-sourced ingredients to their level of service and hospitality.

We wanted the visual identity to reflect the juxtaposition of traditional and modern elements evocative of Singapore. We took inspiration from Tamil, Malay, and Mandarin Chinese alphabets and designed an elegant and sophisticated logotype with unique letterforms that work together in a balanced way. The monogram is simple and timeless with a container shape inspired by the soft, rounded elements of the interior design. We created a floral pattern inspired by traditional Batik with illustrated flowers native of Northern Virginia as a subtle way of connecting to the local landscape. The bright red in the color palette is a nod to the Singaporean flag, while the more muted tones work with the interior architecture of the space, creating a cohesive visual experience.
